Bovey Castle, Peter de Savary's latest venture set within 368 square miles of Dartmoor National Park, is the UK's most exclusive sporting retreat.

The estate's historic 18-hole championship 'Old Course' was created in 1926 by J.F. Abercromby, doyen of the Golden Era of course architects, to rival its twins at Gleneagles and Turnberry.

the 6252 yards par-70 course has undergone a major facelift by renowned Scottish Architects Donald Steel and Tom Mackenzie, the partnership behind some of the world's top courses, including six previously for de Savary.

With the first eight holes doing battle with the fast flowing River Bovey, it is an enchanting place to play and one of golf's best-kept secrets.
