The Murcar Championship golf links has a par of 71 and a standard scratch rating of 72 (USGA rating 71.6 and USGA slope rating 136). It frequently features in the top 100 courses in the British Isles and over the years, has hosted many national amateur championships and professional tournaments. Established in 1909 to the design of Archie Simpson, with later refinements made by the celebrated golf course designer James Braid (of Carnoustie and Gleneagles fame), Murcar is indeed a Championship links of some renown, in the finest of Scottish traditions.
