Just 20 minutes away from Glasgow City Centre, The Westerwood sits in breath-taking countryside at the foot of the Campsie and Kilsyth Hills. The purpose-built hotel and golf resort wax purchased by Morton Hotels in March 2000 and has since seen major investment to both the hotel and the course as part of an on going development plan.

Designed by leading Architect Dave Thomas, the Westerwood Golf Course was built in 1989 and offers some challenging holes and stunning views. Continual Investment in the course has alleviated some initial drainage problems and golfers can now enjoy well manicured greens, tees and fairways. Looking back down the seventeenth hole you would find it hard to believe you were just 12 miles from the city centre.

A peaceful round here might be interrupted by one of the small planes landing at nearby Cumbernauld Airport, but there are few other distractions for the golfer.

Westerwoods signature hole is the par three 15th. At 165 yards at full stretch, it's hardly the longest hole in the world, but the 60 foot cliff face behind the green gives the hole a rugged beauty while threatening the waywood tee-shot.
