Newport is another popular course with visitors. Formed in 1925, it is enjoying a new lease of life under new owners who have rebuilt the clubhouse with a restaurant overlooking the Bay, a separate pro shop, a new driving range, new sprinkler system and £150,000 worth of greenkeeping equipment. These improvements opened in 2001and, according to the pro, is like playing on velvet.
