St David's City celebrated its centenary in 2003. There are few if any other golf clubs bearing the name City. The founders of St David's were anxious not to be confused with the club of the same name at Harlech which had been formed nine years earlier.
They were also a mile from the smallest City in Britain although their lovely spot on the edge of Whitesand Bay couldn't be less urban.
No one knows who laid out the nine holes on this seaside course but the members have been constantly improving the layout which has 18 tees, and two double greens and offers an 18 hole length of 6117 yards. They promise superb greens all the year round and although their clubhouse has no bar, they use the adjacent Whitesand Bay Hotel as their 19th hole.
